Born in Switzerland on the Kraeuchi farm to the Nesselacker line, 10-week-old Nico adjusted easily and quickly to his new surroundings in Virginia during the summer of 2001. The Nesselacker Kennel has produced many fine examples of outstanding Berner foundation stock over a 45-year period and Nico was no exception. He has sired 39 healthy, sound pups since his first litter in 2003 and is Lindenhof’s first Versatility Dog. Nico has demonstrated unusually strong qualities in drafting, which one of his judges described as “one of the most amazing workers on the freight haul that I have had the privilege to judge.” Our handler has depicted him as a very sound conformation dog who “out-moves everything else in the ring.” Intelligent and focused, he easily completed his Novice Obedience title; we are now working on the Open exercises. In 2007, he easily completed all three Rally titles, adding those letters to his name. Nico has a wry sense of humor and always wants to please his human family. He has a proud and dignified bearing most of the time, but like many of the boys, is quick to jump up and protest loudly if he thinks he’s not getting enough attention. He shows uncommon sensitivity to the elderly residents in assisted living in therapy work, but at home, the Lindenhof girls defer to him as pack leader. An exceptional Berner, we love our Nico dearly. TITLES Health Certifications: |
